Days 47 + 48

Yesterday I was at school for a long time doing my essay. I didn't get home until past 9, and finished the essay just before 5 am.

Woke up at 8:30 this morning to study for my midterm at York computer lab. Think I did all right on it.

Ate after the exam, read a comic book for free at the bookstore like a poor nerd, then came home to read some Deathly Hallows. Almost finished.

Gonna go to Salt later. That's about it.

Day 46

Another busy day, though not as productive as I would have hoped. Still gotta kill this essay before I start studying for the midterm, which are both due in two days.

Didn't eat anything extravagant today. Just ate cereal for breakfast, KD for lunch, some Japanese food for dinner.

I need more time.

Day 45

Late entry once more. Day came and went. Woke up later than I wanted to, read a bit, then left to pick up some groceries, a book for school, and cheque from work. Saw my homiette briefly.

Loaded up on KD with ketchup. Not bad; filling anyway.

Read some more. Played around as well. Gotta be more focused.

And a late happy birthday to my friend.

Day 44

Went to school on time for once. Did an entire major assignment in class, and most likely got 100% on it, like everyone else did. I don't understand why that was considered a major assignment. We just followed his instructions step by step and that's all we needed. Have to be a comp1337 n00b to fail it.

After that, I had my big lunch to try and last my day. KFC/Taco Bell has this holiday feast deal now and it's great. Fries, gravy, salad, chocolate, three pieces of chicken and drink. Delicious. Fatteningly delicious.

Then I went home and worked and worked. I'm very sleepy right now. Had some instant noodles at night, and they weren't very good.

Uneventful day.

Sunday, November 25, 2007

Day 43

Been drowsy the entire day. Not much accomplished. Didn't cook dinner again; went out to get Japanese grilled eel rice. It's been two nights in a row now. It's actually not that cheap, even though there's quite a bit of eel. I should cut down on that, tasty as it may be.

Pray for my coming week please. Gonna be long. Pray for productivity mostly.

Day 42

A day late again. Don't really remember everything that happened.

Someone was supposed to go shopping with me, but that didn't happen, so my morning and early afternoon was kinda wasted.

Went to Dominion to cop the new Burning The Day cd but fishman forgot about it. I didn't bother him after that. Ate a Timmy's combo there because I had hardly eaten at all since morning. Just three plain French toasts earlier. Went to return the Tekken dvd at the store nearby, then picked up a movie called I Know Who Killed Me starring Lohan. Not the worst film out there, but definitely nothing spectacular. The ending especially ruined it for me. Just so stupid.

CTI concert after that. Missed Colliding Lights perform. Sorry guys. Wanted to be there. CTI did very well. Fun night overall, including food at Karen's afterwards.

Think that was about it.

Day 41

Posting this a day late, but whatever. Had only one meal again, but it was good. A mix of Taco Bell and KFC; it was mano lickin' good. Yes, I lick more than just fingers.

Bused to SALT, bumped into Chris at the Finch station, so the ride wasn't so lonely. It was cold walk after the bus ride though, so even with my gloves on my hands were rigid.

Played a bit of basketball after SALT, and I gotta say I'm starting to feel like one of those uncles with their awkward motions and poor stamina. My body's not up to it, and especially these days when I go one meal a day.

That's about it.

Thursday, November 22, 2007

Day 40

40 days now. Jesus fared much better than I did when He was in the desert.

Another long day at work. I'm literally falling asleep on the spot now. Reminds me of my sleepless days in Hamilton when I slept during the day involuntarily. I should sleep soon.

Gonna be good to rest a bit next week. No work next week. Well, no job-work anyway. Plenty of school stuff to keep my blood pressure high.

No dinner tonight.

Wednesday, November 21, 2007

Day 39

I woke up at around 10am today, but I was at work at 7:53am. That was painful. My stomach growled for the longest time, and I didn't get to have my 15-minute breaks. The day was long and dull. That is to say, there was no excitement, although there was so much crap to take care of. Yearned sleep so badly. Unlike in the summer when I couldn't stay awake for 15 minutes, I was not that exhausted, but I needed sleep. A willful desire that frustrated me greatly.

And I got other things to take care of, so that didn't help ease my mind. I expect troubled sleep tonight.

Last thought; I came by something interesting tonight. While getting ready for shower in my bathroom, I found a long string of hair on my foot. It was about 5 inches long. Whose was it? Where did it come from? No one (excluding myself) has been up there for weeks. How did it get there?

Tuesday, November 20, 2007

Day 38

Supposed to be at work at 7:50 or so. Woke up at 6:30 and decided sleep was more important. I figured that since I was originally scheduled to go in at 10, I could say that since I didn't get confirmation on my start time, going at 10 would be safe for me. Which I did, and the reason was accepted. Sweet. And since they had expected me to work from 7:50-5 today, I asked if I could just jet at 5. After a brief talk with the manager, I was allowed to go at 5. Double sweet.

Got some work done when I got home. Still doing it now. But still a very long way to go...

During devos, got lots of interesting things from the Bible today. Exciting.

Monday, November 19, 2007

Day 37

Went to class, though half an hour late. Did absolutely nothing, but at least we were let out an hour early. Went to Staples to try to get some days off, or at least switch shifts so I do mornings only and have the night to study and work like a maniac. Someone remind me to get the entire next week off. Hope that works out. Had lunch with high school friend. Came home, read a lot, did laundry, no dinner, and now, apocalypse.

Sunday, November 18, 2007

Day 36

Made some salmon tonight, and I had to choke the last portion of it down my throat by the end of it. I'll be the death of me one day.

Saturday, November 17, 2007

Day 35

Where did the time go?

Felt like I did so much today, and yet I accomplished nothing.

Got an email from the prof, so that's settled. Gotta hit the books and the movies and get this over with. Midterm test in two weeks; I need to bum notes from someone.

Did grocery run today, arranged to buy Burning The Day's newest CD at Dominion on Monday.

Made some disgusting pork chops. Never again.

Gotta read now.

Friday, November 16, 2007

Day 34

*Grumble grumble shake fist at professor.*

Thursday, November 15, 2007

Day 33

Not too busy work shift again. But these days I feel weaker than usual. Not enough nutrients.

For a large part of the day I was panicking over the realization that an essay might be due tomorrow. I haven't even received the essay questions yet. The stress and the hunger didn't go well together, so today wasn't entirely enjoyable. But at least other Staplers are fun to be around, although we don't get to chill until later on into the night.

Our Christmas dinner is coming up in half a month. I think it's gonna be fun. We're allowed one guest, but I'll probably fly solo. Some have been yelled at for wanting to bring their parents. Well, just one. One lady's father actually works with us, so one of them isn't going to prevent awkwardness. That was easy.

Had me some sushi for dinner. At least I'm getting rice in my diet.

And praise the Lord that my essay is due the week after. My worries were for nothing, as they all are for nothing when God's at work in my life.

Wednesday, November 14, 2007

Day 32

Another day at work. Not so demanding these days now that inventory is done.

Took a 15 minute break at around 1 and called up a friend to chat it up. Went back to work 30 minutes later. Oops. No one noticed. At least no manager noticed.

My sugar-coated friend visited me later and we chilled briefly, now and then pretending we're doing business, talking about chairs and testing them out. It was comfy.

When my best friend came by to visit, I was busy pushing and pulling paper I couldn't find the time to meet up with her. I was in the elevator and in the presence of my manager most of the time, so I couldn't bust out my phone and tell her to save her time. Sorry!

Took out two movies from the local sketchy video store because the library takes too long to get me my stuff. The place looks like a porn shop, but both times I've been there (first time to buy Silent Hill for myself), I've met the nicest staff there. Don't know where they get such friendly people.

Rented Apocalypse Now: Redux for class and got The Messengers because I saw a poster of it on the wall. I thought it looked interesting when it came out, and since I was there already, I figured why not. Here's what I think of it because I saw that first...

Horror film about a family moving into a haunted house and horror ensues. The title of the movie is a dead giveaway and the plot proved to be immensely predictable. Once all the characters were introduced I figured out the entire plot. Ho hum. In case anyone misinterpreted my last sentence, that was not supposed to be a command.

So I saw that movie in the living room while chowing down on a cooked chicken I bought from Dominion. And distractedly I allowed the chicken to take a seat on my lap. Oops. My pants are so grimy now. Chicken juice and Sprite combined, and that's just the edible grime. Will wash my pants after work tomorrow. I think they'll survive another day of work.

Okay, enough for now.

Tuesday, November 13, 2007

Day 31

Work day seemed to pass very quickly today for some reason.

At lunch today, I locked eyes with a cute baby in front of me. He was in a pram. That's right, Sam. A pram. And I got so lost in his gaze I upturned an entire cup of Sprite on my leg. Argh. But my pants didn't stain, and they weren't even sticky. Amazing material! Or the Sprite was way too watered down.

I helped a customer carry her products down the street today. Second time this long month (month as in the duration of time I've worked at Staples) for this particular customer. She started up a conversation with me, asking about what I do outside of Staples and such, like what I studied. That's pretty much all we talked about actually. Short story shorter, she offered me a side job, to edit her work for her for a price to my choosing, but reasonable of course. Sweet. Staples pays off (but on that note, my name on the pay cheque is wrong yet again, so maybe they're not really paying). But this is something I've wanted, to work as a writer and be paid for my masterpieces. I'll see what happens with school, home, Staples, and more work to juggle. "The entree ain't as good without something on the side, you know?"

After that, I had dinner and long talk with high school friend. Good food for once in a long while. Interesting talks as well. Then back to my crib for some...personal stuff. Nothing homosexual, I assure you. Maybe "personal stuff" is way too misleading. But what's written will remain written. Moving onn. Ah crap. Moving on. Saw bits of Borat, and it's nice. I learn much Khazakhstan. And then we watched bits of Talladega Nights and that wasn't very funny.

Now I'm here. The adventures of the Lonely Stapler continue.

Monday, November 12, 2007

Day 30

Nothing happened. Not enough meals happened.

Sunday, November 11, 2007

Day 29

Saw The French Lieutenant's Woman today starring Jeremy Irons and Meryl Streep. Supposed to have seen it in class weeks ago, but that didn't happen.

I don't know if the adaptation was true to the novel, but most likely not. It's self-reflexive, so I doubt it, but it's possible. Quite the sad conclusion, though not the greatest storyline. Nothing spectacular, but done interestingly. Highlight of the movie for me was a song played on the piano by some extra. I could follow along exactly on the piano. Good to know the only song I know how to play properly isn't completely unknown. Well, it is Bach after all. I'll just play it to classical buffs. But then I'd just get yelled at for butchering classics.

And nothing else going on so far. No dinner for me tonight. And no, I did not lose weight, China. I just checked like 30 minutes ago.

Day 28

This entry's one day late. Went to dinner with Brian and got some late breakfast at Pickle Barrel. That killer shake got nothing on me.

Nothing else happened yesterday.

Saturday, November 10, 2007

Day 27

Missed my lecture to finish my late major assignment. Made up my mind to attend tutorial at all cost. Left home a wee bit later than I wanted, decided to mail brother's book later. Found an open seat on the bus and sat my tired buttocks down on it. Light sleep soon followed. Woke up minutes later when I heard people moving around. Must be my stop, the very last stop of this bus line, so I got up instinctively like most other people on the bus. But it couldn't be, because I was hardly asleep, and I knew it was too soon. Not everyone stood up either. More clattering behind me. I turn around.

Fat black man in fine suede coat and Persian man in black turtleneck and jeans are engaged in mortal combat. I stepped back, noticing the fat man had reached into his pocket while the other arm was on his fellow combatant. Shouts from passengers at the far back of the bus. Seconds later sueded fatty exited the bus. The driver talked on the phone for a while. No one said a thing. We waited.

It turned out we weren't really waiting for anything, since nothing seemed to have happened. The bus pulled out from the side of the road just short of an intersection and I was too late to attend tutorial. At least I dropped off my brother's book at the Canada Post on campus.

SALT at Ayrine's afterwards. Got myself a devo accountability partner. Hope it works this time, and for the both of us. God be with you in the near and far future, partner.

Thursday, November 08, 2007

Day 26

Early shift today, had to be at work at 7:50am. Long hours. 9 of them. Exhausted. Work still not done. Doing it now, and will finish it tonight.

Breakfast: N/A
Lunch: Chicken thigh, some kinda mushroom pasta, some potato balls.
Dinner: N/A

*Grumble*

Day 25

Late shift at work. 12-9:30. So long and dull. I'm tired. Got home at like 10 after grocery shopping. And after cooking, eating, bit of reading, showering, it is now 11:59pm. Time to do some overdue homework.

Junked out for dinner tonight. Instant noodles, pbj sandwich, and chips. Gross. But I don't have time for fancier things.

Tuesday, November 06, 2007

Day 24

Had a long day of work. Friendly and funny co-workers make the days go by faster. But I'm still behind in school work. Gotta kill this overdue major assignment soon. Two more shifts to go this week. Hope my feet can handle it.

But the good news is I'm saving money on car insurance. Because I don't drive. And also I don't have to do inventory on Saturday from 6pm-1am. That was easy.

Monday, November 05, 2007

Day 23

Found out a major assignment's due today in class, and I haven't even started on it. Struggling to get it done now.

Did some shopping, ended up buying enough only for one night, and still missing some essential items now that I think about it. Tried so do medallion steaks. Figured if it's less than 5 bucks it's not a bad deal. But overcooked it. I guess an hour in the oven is overkill. Dry and chewy. Made sauce as well, but the sauce is too sour. I bought seasoning for the meat but I don't taste it at all. Either I didn't use enough of it or I didn't marinate it long enough. I figured 3 hours would be enough though. Or maybe the seasoning's just weak.

Also cleaned up the backyard, returned a book which I thought was late, and checked out my schedule for work. Gonna be a hectic week this week with everything.

Sunday, November 04, 2007

Day 22

Uneventful. Slept more than just that one extra hour from daylight saving time. Oops.

Gonna watch Family Guy soon, then probably watch the movie required by class.

Wasyo chicken thighs weren't all that spectacular. I need to ease up on the fat. In general, that is.

Day 21

Went chair shopping with Steve this morning, followed by some pre-noon alcohol drinking. We're not drunks, we just share an acquired taste for sake.

And following his suggestions for grocery shopping, I got some chicken thighs and veggies for the next couple of days. The dinner tonight was just half-buttedly seasoned veggies and thighs, broiled for an hour. Tasted kinda bland. Might try with more seasoning next time, and marinate them for longer beforehand. I got two legs left.

Looking forward to the extra hour of sleep tonight.

Saturday, November 03, 2007

Day 20

Returned a "stolen" key to Staples today so they can once again compact trash. Picked up some items on the way out as well. Bought a two-pocket portfolio for 7 cents. 7 cents! Whoa! That was easy!

And then Tammy's birthday. Her brother is cool. And we had some very good food. Salmon + beef + chicken = crazy delicious. I was so tired after eating that though.

Did bubble tea after that, and we sent Johnny off on his southern voyage. Hope all goes well for that man.

Thursday, November 01, 2007

Day 19

Another day at work. Didn't eat or drink anything until around 1, but at least I survived.

Throughout the day I kept hearing people call my name, but there's never actually anyone doing it... Well, can't say never. Some of those times were real. I'm the go-to-guy for manual labour it seems.

My heels are growing resistance to pain I think. They still sting though. And sitting never felt so good.

Oh and some guy tried to buy a laptop with a fake credit card, but people caught on. Security went after him and the guy bolted out the building onto the streets. A car almost hit him. Or so I was told. I was lunching and later at the other end of the store when it all happened. Dang.

No cuts again.
