Two thumbs up!

Had a long and exciting day today. It's only 9:36 pm at the moment, but enough has happened to call it a day. I planned to meet up with friends today at Eaton's around 10:30 in the morning, so I decided to wake up at 8 am. My celly alarm woke me right on time, but I needed at least 20 more minutes of rest, so I reset the time. Unfortunately, I forgot to enable the newly set time on my celly, so I ended up waking at 8:48. Still had a bit of time though. Whew.

Got there at with ten minutes to spare, so I ordered at the McDonald's 3 floors up from the entrance to Queen's subway station. I thought that was the designated meeting place, but it turned out to be the other Micky D's on the same floor as the entrance to the station. So I met up with them, eating on the way. McGriddles are delicious.

We walked around for a bit, stopped by at Coles bookstore and looked around for a bit. I wanted to get my friend a book called Would You Rather by I don't know who for his birthday, but they didn't have it. Then, Alex showed me a book called Everything Men Know about Women. Just from reading the back cover, I knew this book was THE book to read concerning that topic. Flipping through and skimming a few pages, I was surprised by the accuracy of the information. I still wanted to get the other book for my friend, but this one was the second choice. Afterwards we split up into groups to shop for each other. Mango and Ipiss was one group, Alex, Angela, Caleb and Danny was another, and that left me with Angie as the third.

Us two walked around the upper floors and later went through the bridge to the Bay and bought a few items on the way. We had a good bonding time, but I won't go into details right now. Later, we got a call about when and where to meet to regroup, so we went back to Coles an hour or so later. After chatting for a while outside the bookstore, I decided to buy the book for my friend. The book that contained nothing but the truth about what guys know. Once again, I gotta say it was amazing to find out what all males believe to be true when it comes to women. I'm glad I'm not the only one in the world who feels the way I do about ladies.

For lunch, we had the best crepes ever at Cafe Crepe. The food was disgustingly appetizing. Not only did the crepes look good, they tasted even better. I shared one with cheese and eggs and another with strawberry, chocolate, and vanilla ice creams with Angie. Both were amazing. Money well spent.

Walked around Eaton's afterwards for another 2 hours or so, and we gave each other Christmas presents before heading home. I got 3 books from the series Wheel of Time by Robert Jordan (which I highly recommend), and a gift card to Sports Chek or Coast Mountain Sports. Thank you all, friends. I really appreciate the gifts. Thank you.

So that was my day. Hope yours was just as eventful and pleasant. Peace.

One thumb down

So here's what happened. Li asked me to go see a movie with him and Charles aka Chuck. I said, "sure, what movie?"

"Ocean's 12."

"I hear it sucks. Let's see The Incredibles."

"You and Charles duke it out."

So we went, and I bumped into Charles outside the Don Mills subway station. If I didn't bump into him there, I would've been lost in the mall for a while. Li took the bus, so he was doing his own thing somewhere else.

Saw a few friends on the way to Rainbow Theatre. Edith, Kim, Esther, and Mike. Had a brief chat with them, then left to get tickets. By then Li already found us. Mango was there with family too, thought I'd bump into them as well, but that didn't happen. Oh well.

So up we went into Rainbow. There we debated on which movie to see. I suggested we play a game in the arcade to decide, but it turned out the games there were expensive, so being the nice guy I am, I let Chuck decide. We went to see Ocean's 12 and I expected a disaster and a waste of money.

I was mostly right. I never saw the first one, so I had no clue what was happening in most scenes. If Chuck and Li didn't fill me in on what happened in the last one, I would've had a tough time understanding the film. Ocean's 12 is incomprehensible without Ocean's 11.

There were parts that were funny though. It had its moments, but they didn't last too long. Some parts were ridiculous, and there weren't enough action scenes or scenes with the people stealing things. Ocean's crew knew Mandarin for some reason, which made no sense to me. The token Chinese guy was useless in the film. Just there to be laughed at.

Overall, there were a few funny scenes, but I missed a lot of the points from not seeing Ocean's 11 first. Not a great film, but it's not as hopeless as other films out there this time of the year I'm sure.

Concerning strange event on Sunday

Here's something I gotta get across to the people out there.
If you're a guy and I don't know you, don't pinch my firm buttocks. Thanks.

My new term resolution

Can't keep working like this. I need to change my ways for next semester. Here's my plan:

-Go to every lecture/tutorial (excluding Thursdays)
-Do my academic reading regularly
-Sleep earlier
-Stop getting distracted so easily, like right now (exam tomorrow)
