Ping!
On Sunday night, I was called in to work from 6-10pm, during Super Bowl time. Though the guy denied it, I thought he called me in so he could watch the game. But no worries, it was only 4 hours.
Since my co-worker (the one the lady sneezed on) finished most of the tasks himself, I just had to clean everything up. For the first time, I had to wash down the glass shelves in the counters, where salads and scallops are usually placed. By this time I knew how much time it would take me to wash the trays and put away the fish, so I should finish well before 10. No problem, I told him.
By 9, I had already put away all the fish and cleaned up most of the trays. All I had left to do were cleaning the glass shelves and trays, and then wipe down the counters.
My friend from bakery dropped by, since she finished all she had to do, and we chatted.
"I'm so afraid I might break this," I said, pulling the heavy glass panes out of the counters. There were four of these, and I was told to wash them one by one, and then leave them to dry in a shopping cart. I was lifting the fourth one from the sink when it slipped through my fingers, and dropped about 2-3 inches back into the sink full of hot water + sanitation chemicals.
PING!
Well, there was a bit of "crash!" involved, too, if I remember correctly. The piece of glass was about half a centimetre thick, one foot wide and 4 foot long. The entire piece shattered in my hands. My co-worker and I looked at each other in silence.

Did you cut yourself, or were you wearing protective clothing? What's gonna happen now? :(
