What a week
Haven't done this in a while, so I got a bit to say, especially after such an eventful week.
First off, a major assignment was due on Thursday, and I confess I did nothing in the 3 weeks I had to finish it. I started pretty much on Tuesday, after collecting all my research notes on Monday. With God's grace again, I pulled through. I was happy about the finished product, even though I spent no time reading it over. Hopefully that wouldn't be my biggest mistake. It's worth 25%, and I can't afford to fail. I stayed home to work all day Wednesday, and finished it around 12:30 am. It was good. Unfortunately, I found out on Thursday that I missed a lab on Wednesday. I get 10 of those throughout the year, and I can't miss more than one. First miss, last miss. I guess it was worth it though, so I'm not too concerned.
Friday night, Gums led a discussion group on war and Christians, and that grew into a controversey. All good though, I still learned from the lesson. Thanks for leading Gums. After fellowship, Jay was surprised by a birthday cake. His birthday was on Saturday, but more on that later. Then we played ball, but since there were so many people, I subbed off to chill with a friend I rarely get to talk to in person, and that was good. After leaving church, some of us headed out to Bubble Star as usual. That joint is making so much off us alone. Ordered a longan meat green tea with tapioca, and that was a weird drink. I give it 2.5 stars out of five. As usual, we just talked, and planned for Saturday before Jay arrived.
On Saturday, a couple of us went to surprise Jay at Montana's for lunch. It would've gone well, but SOMEBODY screwed it up. TWICE! Haha, just joking, friend. You know who you are! Haha. We all had a great time eating, bonding, drawing and writing on the table. Got into a discussion about names, don't remember how that started. Gave Casey the idea of naming his daughter Chun. That was great, and gotta love "!xobile. " If you're wondering how that's pronounced, there's no way I can properly explain it in writing. At least not in English.
So after lunch, we all went off our separate ways, and that was it for Jay's b-day. Or at least that's why Jay thought. At night when the Yau family went out for dinner, a whole pack of us invaded their house and decorated it for a second surprise for Jay. That went perfectly, giving Jay quite a shock when he entered the house, haha. Glad you loved the party man! We pitched in to get him a cool present. The party was great, and the food was great. Many thanks to the Yau family.
Sunday. Very tired in the morning. Almost fell asleep during the sermon and during CD team, not because they were boring, but I was just too tired and too out of it. At 2, folks from North Toronto Alliance Chinese Church came by for ball. A few of our big guys didn't show up, but we still had pretty solid players. Overall, I think we were the better team, but it just wasn't our day. Lost the two games that we played, but at least they were close ones. We were missing shots and losing rebounds. Our d wasn't good enough. One fairly heavy guy on their team with awkward movements forced his way in too many times. Shouldn't have let him score that many. But, the point was we had fun, or at least a good workout anyway. Knee hurts as usual, but not too badly. Not that much fun cuz we lost, but it was still worthwhile.
